Escape
to the French Alps for a long Bank Holiday walking weekend in either May
or August to enjoy the beautiful clear Alpine air, stunning views and some
amazing walking. Our 4
day packages are the most convenient way to enjoy a short walking holiday
or hiking break in the mountains, whilst the fact we are just one hour from
Geneva airport makes it incredibly quick and easy to get here.
You can benefit from the warm and sunny climate in the Alps during the summer months - temperatures are normally around 20-25 degrees celsius. Plenty warm enough for enjoying the outdoor swimming pools at the end of a hard day's walking. The views are beautiful, the scenery stunning and varied with some challenging climbs to reach amazing mountain views. The routes and pace of walking is chosen to suit the group and ensure that everyone enjoys an active yet relaxing long walking weekend away.
During the August Bank Holiday weekend guests can enjoy an extra treat on the Friday evening as we visit the local village of Grand Bornand to enjoy the closing fireworks and theatre display from their Bank Holiday Bonheur des Momes festival.
The Bank Holiday Weekend Format
The weekend format is the standard WalkWeekender package. Depart the UK on a Thursday evening for the quick flight to Geneva (not included). We will meet you there in our minibuses and in under an hour you will be settling in to our Aravis walking Lodge. Over dinner or late supper we will talk about the plans for the next 4 days of walking. We will host our normal guided walks on the Friday and Saturday, with options also presented for Sunday and Monday. We always build in enough time for relaxing at the Lodge and exploring the resorts of La Clusaz and Grand Bornand or can feature additional mountain walks if you prefer.
Taking advantage of Bank Holiday weekends means that you don't even need to take the Monday as holiday. With 4 days away walking in the French Alps for just one day of holiday this has to be the best way to recharge your batteries!
